Introduction To Macrobiotic Cooking

Sunday 16th March 2008

Food today is a hot subject. There are  hundreds of books about diet and nutrition, usually stressing some analytical approach to nutrition, often difficult to apply in the kitchen.

Macrobiotic Cooking goes beyond nutrition and instead follows time honoured principles of balance and harmony. Using a dynamic system that takes into account the seasons and local environment, as well as our individual health needs, we are able to prepare simple and delicious meals that create a pathway to health and happiness.

Macrobiotic Cooking is straightforward to understand and apply. Learning it is not so much an  intellectual exercise, but more an awakening of our intuition or native common sense.

This introductory class will include some explanation of dietary principles as well as  practical cooking demonstration.

The class will be instructed by Paul Lambeth and his son Jack. Both have been eating following  macrobiotic principles for almost thirty years.

The venue is Gurkel 18a Elmfield Road, Gosforth, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE3 4AY.

Timing will be 11am to 4.30pm.            Cost is £40.
